En el l\u00ed\u00admite con la provincia de C\u00f3rdoba y sobre la margen derecha del R\u00ed\u00ado Guadalquivir. Su paisaje est\u00e1 formado por zonas de sierra. Al norte, lim\u00ed\u00adtrofes con la Sierra de Hornachuelos; y al sur tierras de vega. A 74 km de Sevilla y con 3895 habitantes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Su origen es de la \u00e9poca romana. Para algunos historiadores se trata de la antigua Celti. Se han encontrado numerosos restos de esta \u00e9poca tanto en la villa como en su t\u00e9rmino municipal. Podemos destacar, entre otros, termas, acueductos, muelle sobre el Guadalquivir, alfar, pante\u00f3n familiar y algunos incrustados en los edificios del casco urbano.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>De la antigua ciudad romana a la que arribaban las naves cargadas de plata desde C\u00f3rdoba, quedan restos del malec\u00f3n del puerto. En la actualidad cuenta con algunos monumentos como la Iglesia de S. Pedro, el Convento de S. Luis o la Ermita de Nuestra Sra. de la Encarnaci\u00f3n. Y, el castillo de Pe\u00f1a<em>flor una construcci\u00f3n defensiva del bajo medievo<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A mediados de agosto se celebra sus Fiestas Patronales en honor a la Virgen de Villadiego. Y, la feria a principios de agosto.<\/p>\n<p><span>En la gastronom\u00eda de Pe\u00f1aflor destacan sus\u00a0<\/span><em>Alcauciles a la andaluza y los esp\u00e1rragos.
