En un paisaje agr\u00ed\u00adcola de cultivos de cereal, herb\u00e1ceos y olivos. Su fisonom\u00ed\u00ada actual se debe al siglo XVIII. La caracter\u00ed\u00adstica predominante de su arquitectura son las portadas barrocas de ladrillo y los balconajes y amplias ventanas enrejadas. A 61 kil\u00f3metros de Sevilla y con 7.254 habitantes (seg\u00fan datos del a\u00f1o 2024).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Se conocen asentamientos desde la \u00e9poca prehist\u00f3rica, por los yacimientos arqueol\u00f3gicos encontrados como el de los Cerros de San Pedro.<\/span><br \/>\n<span>Durante el periodo romano estuvo muy poblada, por lo que se cree que debi\u00f3 ser una poblaci\u00f3n de cierta importancia.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span>Fue conquistada por los cristianos en el siglo XIII. Perteneci\u00f3 a Carmona hasta que se independiz\u00f3 en el siglo XIV.<\/span><br \/>\n<span>En el siglo XVI alcanza la ciudad su mayor esplendor arquitect\u00f3nico y comienza a adquirir relevancia, alcanzando su punto m\u00e1ximo en el siglo XVIII.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Conserva monumentos de inter\u00e9s como el Castillo de Monclova, la Iglesia de Santa Mar\u00ed\u00ada de las Nieves, la Iglesia de San Jos\u00e9 o la Casa de los Fern\u00e1ndez Pe\u00f1aranda.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Sus fiestas patronales en honor a San Sebasti\u00e1n (20 de enero) y la Virgen del Rosario (7 de octubre) y la Romer\u00eda de Mar\u00eda Auxiliadora el \u00faltimo domingo de mayo. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>En tu visita tienes que probar su deliciosa gastronom\u00eda, a base de\u00a0<\/span><em>guisos caseros y carnes a la brasa.
